Where you eat depends on the tour, and so does how long you get. The coach gives you 90 minutes in Haleiwa. The Aloha Sunshine loop gives an hour at a Kahuku shrimp stand. One tour serves a sit-down lunch at the Polynesian Cultural Center, and one is a food tour with lunch and four tastings built in.
Here is every lunch stop on the tours on this site, what to order, and how much cash to carry.
The quick answer
Lunch is included only on E Noa's Majestic tour (Pounders, at the Polynesian Cultural Center) and the local food tour. Every other tour stops for 45 to 90 minutes at a Kahuku shrimp stand, Kahuku Farms or Haleiwa town, and you pay. Budget about $25 to $40 a person for lunch, a Dole Whip and a snack, and bring cash.
Is lunch included on a circle island tour?
Only on two tours here: E Noa's Majestic tour and the Island and You food tour.
On the Majestic tour lunch is a 45-minute stop at Pounders Restaurant, inside the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie. "Great lunch at the Polynesian Cultural Center" (Jonathan, Jul 2026). On the food tour lunch comes with a malasada tasting, a macadamia nut and Kona coffee tasting and banana lumpia at Kahuku Farms.
Everyone else pays. The deluxe coach hands out a "Taste of Hawaii" snack with bottled water (guests mention donuts), and Nui carries snacks and soft drinks, but neither is lunch.

Lunch at Pounders plus Byodo-In and Waimea Valley entry, so the only cash you need is for snacks.
Explore the Majestic tour with lunch Tour detailsWhere does each circle island tour stop for lunch?
In Kahuku (shrimp stands and Kahuku Farms) or Haleiwa town, for 45 to 90 minutes.
Tours that go counterclockwise reach Kahuku, at the island's northern tip, around midday, which is why the shrimp stands there do most of the business. The coach waits until Haleiwa.

Which Kahuku shrimp trucks do the tours stop at?
Tanaka Kahuku Shrimp on Aloha Sunshine, and the 56-777 Kamehameha Highway stop on the turtle tour, where Fumi's sits.
Kahuku has shrimp farms, and the stands along Kamehameha Highway sell garlic shrimp plates with two scoops of rice. Hawaii Magazine lists Fumi's Kahuku Shrimp at 56-777 Kamehameha Highway, the same address as the 45-minute stop on the Hawaii Turtle Tours itinerary, and Giovanni's Shrimp Truck at 56-505. Prices have climbed since: in February 2025 Honolulu Magazine paid $16 at Jenny's, $17.50 at Giovanni's and $18 at Tanaka for a plate.
The Turtle Tours listing describes plate lunches with veggie stir fry, teriyaki chicken, shrimp or pork. Aloha Sunshine spends a full hour at Tanaka Kahuku Shrimp. "The garlic butter shrimp lunch was amazing" (Biggeman, Oct 2026).
Order garlic, not spicy, unless you mean it. And eat it at the picnic tables: garlic shrimp in a hot bus is not a gift to the other passengers.

What should you eat in Haleiwa on a 90-minute stop?
A plate lunch or shrimp from one of the trucks, then shave ice at Matsumoto's.
Ninety minutes on the deluxe coach is the longest free time of any lunch stop here. Haleiwa's main road has shrimp trucks of its own (Hawaii Magazine lists several on Kamehameha Highway in town), cafes and surf shops. Guides hand out tips, too: "Lola gave us good eating recs for one of our stops" (Lloyd, Oct 2026).
For dessert, Matsumoto Shave Ice has been on the same spot since February 1951 and turned 75 this year, per Hawaii News Now. The line can be long, so join it first and eat lunch afterwards.
Aloha Sunshine stops for 30 minutes in Haleiwa and the 13-seat van for 15, which is a quick look and a photo by the town sign.

Ninety minutes in Haleiwa for lunch, plus the blowhole, the Pali and Byodo-In.
Check dates for the deluxe Grand Circle coachIs the Dole Whip worth the Dole Plantation stop?
Yes; it is the reason to stop, and 30 minutes is enough for it and the shop.
Nearly every tour ends the loop at Dole Plantation in Wahiawa, open daily 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM with free entry to the visitor center. The pineapple soft serve is what people queue for. "At the Dole Plantation, get the Pineapple whip ice cream, so good!" (Maykristin, Sep 2026).
The paid extras do not fit a 30-minute stop: the Pineapple Express train is $15 per adult and the garden maze $10. Nui stays 60 minutes and Aloha Sunshine 45, enough for one of them if you skip the queue for the whip. On the others, eat the whip and get back on the bus.

What is the Kahuku Farms stop on a circle island tour?
A family farm cafe in Kahuku with smoothies, acai bowls and lilikoi butter; 20 to 40 minutes depending on the tour.
Kahuku Farms sits at 56-800 Kamehameha Highway, a few doors from the shrimp stands. Its cafe serves smoothies, paninis and acai bowls, sells its own lilikoi butter, and has plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The Hidden Gems tour stops for 40 minutes, Waimea and Nui for 20, and the food tour serves banana lumpia there as one of its tastings.
Check your tour day against the cafe's hours: it lists 11 AM to 4 PM and closes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On those days ask the operator where the stop moves.
Where do you taste macadamia nuts, coffee and malasadas?
At the macadamia farm outlet on the windward side, the coffee farms near Dole, and Leonard's on the food tour.
Seven tours stop at Tropical Farms, a macadamia nut outlet on the windward coast, for 20 to 30 minutes of free samples and a shop. Nui and Aloha Sunshine stop at Green World Coffee Farms near Wahiawa; Nui and the 13-seat van add the North Shore Macadamia Nut Company. "Stop and have some of their treats and coffee which was wonderful" (Tanya, Aloha Sunshine, Sep 2026).
Malasadas, the Portuguese sugared doughnuts, are a tasting on the food tour. They come from Leonard's Bakery, which opened in 1952 on Kapahulu Avenue, per Leonard's.

Lunch, Leonard's malasadas, coffee and macadamia tastings and banana lumpia, with no more than 24 guests.
Explore the local food tour Tour detailsHow much cash do you need for food on a circle island tour?
About $25 to $40 a person covers lunch, a Dole Whip and a snack, plus cash for the guide's tip.
Aloha Sunshine's listing says it straight: "Bring cash for roadside stands, food trucks, and local shops", many of them cash-only. The Waimea tour asks for cash for lunch and gratuities. Plates in Kahuku cost $16 to $18 in Honolulu Magazine's February 2025 test, so carry more than that.
Small bills help at the trucks. Our packing list covers tips and the rest of the day bag, and the 2026 price list has the paid extras along the loop.
An hour at a Kahuku shrimp stand and an hour at a North Shore beach on one long day.
